Ten Minute Table Runner

Amanda and I saw this Harvest Forest Animals and Harvest Zig Zag fabric
from Timeless Treasures and knew it would be
perfect for a ten minute table runner.

And because it is a Ten Minute Table Runner we thought
let's make four of them!
One for each daughter-in-law and us.

We bought the fabric at Around the Block Quilters Shop.
Just google Ten Minute Table Runner to find instructions.

It's a great quick and easy gift.

Fabulous Fall

I Love the fall time of year.
We recently drove through Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
This picture was taken just outside of Marquette, Michigan.

Here at home the change has been a bit later than usual.
This is the view from my kitchen window.

I think I like watching colorful leaves float through the air as much as
I like watching snowflakes fall from the winter sky.

I have some fall quilts to show you that I have made over the years.

This is a pattern called Hide 'n' Seek that can be found in this book.

The patterns in this book are made  by sewing different size strips together.
Then you cut the strip sets using this ruler.

The possibilities are endless.  It is so much fun to see what
you can come up with.
I bought my book and the ruler from Around the Block Quilters Shop.   My good friend Christine owns this online shop.  Take a look at her website she is always adding new fabrics and kits.
Lucky me I can just walk up my street and head to her basement!

I had more blocks than I needed for the lap quilt and made this table topper.
I wanted to have something that I could quilt using a new pantograph, Indian Summer, that you can see on my website here.

I think it looks great with my pumpkins.

When we moved into this home we purchased an inexpensive kitchen table and chairs.
Richard had the great idea to get a piece of glass cut to put on top of the table.
This allows me to display small seasonal table toppers under the glass.
I love this!
Right now we have a scarecrow quilt on display.
We have also put together puzzles and slid them under the glass.
Family pics and notes find their way under the glass also.

Here's another table topper.

I had fun with the quilting on this.

And a wall hanging.

This last one I made several years ago, before I purchased Betsy,
my APQS Millennium long arm quilting machine.

So there you have it.
  My first real post.
They won't all be this long and I'll have to admit it's easier than I thought.
It is definitely a work in progress that I look forward to sharing with you.

We are having a bit of a blustery fall day.
This made me think of a Winnie the Pooh movie my boys loved.
Pooh tells his friends to have a wonderful
Windsday.

I hope yours is great!

Under construction...

Please be patient while I try to figure out the ins and outs
of the blogging world.
I decided to give blogging a try since I have taken the plunge to get a website up and going.
Our son, Spencer, is creating a website for my quilting business
as a project for a college course he is taking.
I look forward to sharing bits of my life, quilting and otherwise.

Time...
Where does it go?

Has it really been almost 18 months, make that 22 months, since my last post?!?!
Lots has been happening in our neck of the woods.

Everyone came for Christmas 2015

March 8, 2015
Daughter Amanda turned 16 and is now driving.

Youngest son Spencer gets engaged to Awesome Alli.

March/April
A spot is found while doing routine mammogram, yikes!
Surgical biopsy done, yep, cancer. What, me?

Grand baby #5, Boston Chandler Hair was born April 5, 2015

May 1, 2015
Spence and Al get married, they now become SAL.

Lumpectomy followed by 30 radiation treatments.

I decided to add a computer to my machine for edge to edge work.
It has been wonderful to have a quilt going and be able to do some sewing at the same time.

Spence and Alli spend the summer in NYC with internships
at the same company and we went for a visit.

Piper joins the family.
We got very lucky when we rescued this sweet
4 year old Yorkie from a local shelter.

Thanksgiving at Tyler and Rachel's, we find out that they will be
adding another boy to their bunch in April!
We took Piper and she was Austin's constant companion.

 Blake loves Lincoln Logs.

Lots of help in the kitchen!

Hazel and Cody having fun on the swings.

My sweet mother-in-law passed away December 14, 2015.  We had a graveside service for her in Utah and spent Christmas with Chandler, Devrey and Boston.

Richard, Amanda and I traveled to Orlando in February to meet up
with Chandler, Devrey and Boston.
We found out that Devrey won't be going on many rides, they're expecting baby #2.
Boston will be getting a sister in September.

Tyler and Rachel welcomed
Drew Anders on May 13th, 2016.
He weighed 8lbs 9oz.

  Hazel gets a brother!
Arlo Christopher was born on June 23, 2016
and weighed 9lbs 4oz!

I took the plunge and purchased a second machine.  A 2016 Millennium!
I have the best customers who trust me with their treasures.

Wow!  That's quite the recap of my life the last 22 months.
I have so much to be thankful for, my family is at the top of that list!
